Ways to Give
Cash/Checks: Most gifts we receive are in the form of cash or checks. Checks should be made out to The Learning Center for the Deaf and mailed directly to:
The Development Office
The Learning Center for the Deaf
848 Central Street
Framingham, MA 01701
Credit Card: Many donors prefer to charge their donations. TLC accepts: MasterCard, Visa, American Express and Discover. Donors may make one-time payments or make a commitment of monthly payments. To make a gift by credit card, visit our Make a Gift Online page or call Patti McCarthy, at 508.879.5110 x222.
Monthly Giving: A monthly or bimonthly giving plan is a great and easy way to support TLC. The amount you choose will automatically be billed to your credit card the last week of each month. Acknowledgements of monthly gifts will be emailed, and in December we will mail you a letter documenting the total amount of donations made throughout the year. At the end of the fiscal year, we will contact you and ask if you would like to continue the giving plan through the next year. Monthly commitments may be canceled at any time by contacting Patti McCarthy, at 508.879.5110 x222.
Gifts of Securities: To make a gift of securities, you may call the Development Office directly or have your broker call for instructions about transferring the shares.
Matching Gifts: Many companies - more than 1,500 - offer their employees the opportunity to match or in some cases multiply their charitable donations. To find out if your company has a matching gift program, please see your Personnel or Human Resources office to obtain the necessary forms.
Memorials/Bequests: Please contact the Development Office if you would like to learn more about planned giving opportunities. We will work with you and your financial advisor to determine the plan that will best meet your intentions.
In-kind personal property: When moving or updating a home, many do not know what to do with old furniture or possessions. A great way to “get rid of” and make a donation at the same time is to donate these items to TLC. TLC’s classrooms and more specifically the dorms can always use new (to us) furniture. All in-kind gifts will be credited using the appraisal amount given by the donor. These gifts are not limited to furniture and may also include classroom or building equipment, art and real estate.
Vehicle Donation Program: A free, convenient service for converting that extra car, truck or RV into a tax-deductible donation benefiting The Learning Center for the Deaf. You can donate online, through Vehicle Donation Program website, or call 877.999.8322 to make your donation.
Unique ways of giving: TLC is always amazed and grateful for the numerous unique ways the TLC family has found to support us. Over the years, we have received gifts representing lost bets during significant sports games, and even a bet to shave a 20 year old mustache! Parents and grandparents have started their own events to benefit TLC, such as charging co-workers (with the boss’s permission) for a dress-down Friday.
Confidentiality and Donor Privacy: The Learning Center for the Deaf considers all donor information highly confidential. Donor information is solely used for TLC mailings (publications, correspondence, invitations and solicitations). TLC never shares donor information with other organizations and never sells its mailing list.
